Gas purification units UOGA-10, UOGA-10A, UOGA-100 are used to purify the following process gases from oxygen, water vapors and dust impurities:
- technical gaseous premium class nitrogen GOST 9293-74;
- gaseous helium TU 51-940-80;
- gaseous argon GOST 10157-79.
Gas purification units are cooled by drinking water according to GOST 2874-82 supplied at the pressure of 0.1-0,4 Mpa and flow rate 0.1 m3/hour (for purification units UOGA-10 and UOGA-10A) and 0.2 m3/hour (for UOGA-100 unit). Recovery of nickel- chromium catalyst in purification unit UOGA-10 requires supply of technical grade A hydrogen according to GOST 3022-80 at the pressure of 0.05-0.1 MPa and flow rate not less than 0.2 m3/hour. Purification unit UOGA-100 requires nitrogen-hydrogen mixture (technical gaseous grade A hydrogen according to GOST 3022-80 at the pressure of 0.05-0.07 MPa and flow rate 0.2 m3/hour and gaseous nitrogen according to GOST 9293-74 at the pressure of 0.05-0.07 MPa and flow rate 0.7 m3/hour.
Operation of gas purification units UOGA-10 and UOGA-100 is based on the principle of binding of oxygen impurities by nickel-chromium catalyst. Water vapors, nitrogen oxides, and carbon are absorbed by NaX zeolite. Dust particles are extracted by E1-100190 fabric GOST 19907-83 and woven-screen filter element LFS-2 TU 95-404-76.
Operation of argon purification unit UOGA-10A is based on the principle of binding of chemically active impurities in raw argon by calcium vapors at the temperature of 973 °K (700 °С).
